. Video: Album & other projects news | 02 February 2010

An interview Jen gave backstage at the Grammy to ExtraTv, she talked about her projects and the transcript from extra.com make it sound like the album won’t be released in April, that part is apparently cut out from the video:

"I'm working on my album that will be out... hopefully this year; we'll see if I get it done... You know how it is, you go in you’re there non-stop, you leave it alone for a minute and you come back - you're like, okay, this is what I need."

In the video "I want to do it. I love that show. I love musicals," Lopez says about doing "Glee." "It's like a musical you get to see every week -- I love it. We'll see... we'll see what comes up -- maybe sit down and talk about it." That she’s doing "How I met her mother" for an episode that should air around the release of "The Back-up plan" and that she has other things here and there around the release of the movie.

About the music she says that she had the chance to work with people she wanted to work with, like Kurk, Tricky and The Dream and that she’s gonna work with them more while finishing that album and that she would love to work with Fergie.

. Everybody's Girl First listen ! (Full) | 27 January 2010

PlanetRadio (Germany) played the song this afternoon ! A different sound for Jennifer but i love the change ! and this is the perfect sound for the international market. So do you Love it or Hate it let me know in the comments form.

. ELLE magazine album preview | 18 January 2010

The records title and inspiration might suggest maudlin results, but make no mistake: Love? Is a dance album. Lopez wants you to move and be moved. The five tracks the record company played for me are infectious club-thumpers (« Louboutins » ridiculously catchy beat is made for scorned women everywhere trying to shake off the blues on a girl’s night out) but they lack experimentation.

That said, the up-tempo ballad « Starting over » packs some meditative heft, it’s unquestionably an adult pop song that grapples with marriage and betrayal of vows, and when Lopez sings, " He’s my Man when we’re at home and it can’t hurt if I don’t know All his secrets all his lies, I just keep pushing out my mind," you can actually hear heartache in the delivery.

. Billboard.com Album Preview | 16 January 2010

Jennifer Lopez, "Love?" (Epic)
Release Date: April 2010

A long lead time-promotion for Jennifer Lopez's "Love?" began last year, with the Pitbull collaboration "Fresh Out the Oven" leaked online and to clubs. The song, likely to be offered as a bonus track, is much more urban in feel than the rest of "Love?," which has a modern electro/dance vibe that contrasts with the slightly retro feel of 2007's "Brave."

The album is timed with the release of Lopez's next film, "The Back-Up Plan," with discussions under way to include music from "Love?" in the movie. First single "Louboutins" was sent to radio in the fall, timed to Lopez's TV performances beginning with the American Music Awards. Look for Lopez to wear Louboutins designs for her promotional appearances; plans are in the works for radio contest shoe giveaways and appearances at the designer's boutiques.

On the album, Lopez sings, talk-sings and broods (within pop reason) on the subject of love over soaring synths and prominent beats. Typical are the Wynter Gordon-written "Starting Over," produced by Danja, and "What Is Love," produced by D'Mile. Another highlight is "Everybody's Girl," a pulsating drum-driven track produced by Mike Caren and written by Gordon.

. Rap-up Album preview | 23 December 2009

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Jennifer Lopez sticks to her hitmaking formula on her seventh studio album Love? While it’s not due until April, Rap-Up.com was one of the first media outlets to hear nine tracks from the superstar’s dance floor-ready project, four months prior to its release. J.Lo’s first album since becoming a mother features contributions from heavy hitters including Danja, Rodney “DarkchildJerkins, The Neptunes (“Fresh Out the Oven”), Stargate (“Story of My Life”), Tricky Stewart and The-Dream (“Louboutins”), and Wynter Gordon.

The follow-up to 2007’s Brave is scheduled for release around the same time as Lopez’s romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan, in theaters April 16. As the title implies, the album is a love roller coaster, taking you through the ups and downs of a relationship. Some of the tracks we previewed were not final mixes and may change between now and release, and more songs will be added. Check out our exclusive track-by-track breakdow.

1. “Everybody’s Girl”
Produced by Mike Caren, Written by Wynter Gordon
It’s hard having a private life when you’re one of the most famous entertainers in the world. J.Lo questions whether her man is capable of loving her under the intense glare of the spotlight. “Can you love somebody when their everybody’s girl?” she asks over the slick uptempo production, while the hook repeats: “Can you love, can you love, can you love a girl?” One of the standout tracks, this could easily be a single.

2. “What Is Love”
Produced by D’Mile, Written by Wynter Gordon
A version of this song leaked online earlier this year. The latest version has been mixed and hits harder with added drums. There is a “What Is Love (Part 2)” produced by Jean Baptiste that may or may not make the album.

3. “Starting Over”
Produced by Danja, Written by Wynter Gordon
Jenny from the Block describes the hardships of getting back in the game after a breakup. “I’m afraid of starting over,” she sings over Danja’s fast-paced, galloping beat, while admitting she’s “still in love” with the man she left. “It’s like my whole existence he holds in his hands.”

4. “This Cannot Be Love”
Produced by Rodney “DarkchildJerkins
The beginning sounds like the chords from another Darkchild joint, Brandy and Monica’s duet “The Boy Is Mine.” It quickly picks up the pace with an electro-pop beat and speedy hook (“This cannot be love, this can’t be love, this can’t be love,” she repeats). J.Lo wonders whether true love exists. “How could something that felt so right turn so wrong?I need to know right now,” she demands. The production gets more aggressive towards the end.

5. “One Love”
Produced by D’Mile, Written by A-Plus
Took a shot with a bad boy from the block,” she croons on the leaked track. It won’t take long for listeners to make the connection to Sean “Diddy” Combs. “Mr. Wrong, he plays his part,” she says of her former music mogul boyfriend. But J.Lo is on to the next one, in search for that one true love of a lifetime. She counts her famous lovers by the numbers, #3 being Ben Affleck (“Came and swept me off my feet/ Went nowhere, but kept the ring/ Once again I’m lonely”) and her current husband Marc Anthony (“#4, you sang to me, but I’m not sure … Made me want to try once more and I couldn’t say no.”)

6. “Keeper”
Produced by Danja, Written by Britney Bereal and Luke Boyd
After much searching, J.Lo finally finds Mr. Right. The beat is somewhat reminiscent of T.I.’s “Hell of a Life,” which Danja also produced. “You give me so much love, you keep it locked down,” she sings on the bouncy hook. “It doesn’t matter what they tell me … That boy’s a keeper.” One of our favorites. Danja contributed another track called “Love and War” that was not played.

7. “Beautiful”
Produced by Mike Caren, Written by Chris Sernel
A guitar-driven ballad that sounds like it was made for a movie. In fact, it may be used during the end credits for The Back-Up Plan. Some days I feel beautiful, just not today,” she sings on the Ryan Tedder-esque production.

Louboutins,” the first single helmed by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, as well as the Pitbull-assisted, Neptunes-produced buzz record “Fresh Out the Oven” ( as a bonus track according to Jennifer) will also be on the album.

. Tricky Stewart Interview | 24 Novembre 2009

In case you didn't catch her performance at last night's American Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez is back--with some pretty expensive footwear.
Produced and written by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, the recently released "Louboutins" is the first official single off the actress-turned-singer's upcoming album, Love. The song is a metaphor for a woman walking out on a no-good man, with the red bottoms on the popular Christian Louboutin heels visible as she struts off.

Stewart has high hopes that the record-which finds Lopez showing no mercy, with lyrics like: "Boy, watch me walk it out / Walk this right up out the house"-will reach "Single Ladies"-type pandemonium.

If the females get behind it and they really get into the lyrics of what she's saying and the metaphor, I think it could be a really, really big hit for her," Stewart tells VIBE. "Anytime you work with an artist whose platform is so high and she's gonna get exposure, we're just hoping there's a connection with those lyrics coming from her."

Even as it shows love for every celebrity's must-have shoe, "Louboutins" is a female empowerment anthem at its core: "See, some days you would love me, then you don't / Then you do, then you won't / Then you're here, then you're gone / I'm alone, now you got me stressin' out on the phone / But it's the last time, I'm movin' on / I'm throwin' on my Louboutins."

"That was Dream and I just getting in the room and clicking," Stewart says of the song's conception. "We were both on two different keyboards, two different drum machines and once again just got behind the mic and the rest is history."

Before ending up in J. Lo's hands (or feet?), the "Louboutins" track was originally meant for Brandy. "After she lost her deal [with Epic] we didn't want the record to die," Stewart says. "When [Jennifer] heard it, she loved it. She absolutely loved that record. And I love it, too. That's one of my favorite records that we've done."

The duo also produced a track on Love called "Villain," which is about role reversals in a sour relationship. "The girl is talking about how a guy can alienate her," Stewart says. "It's almost like she's the villain even though he's the one that's kinda doing the craziness. It's a darker feel [but] it's an upbeat song, too."

Prior to "Louboutins," Lopez released the Pitbull-assisted song "Fresh out the Oven" as her alter ego Lola. Tricky says his and Dream's partner Kuk Harrell is handling much of the production for the rest of her album. "I heard him working on some of the vocals and she has a lot of really good songs, I will say that," Stewart reveals. "The stuff I heard was really good, really strong."

In addition to Lopez, Stewart is also working on Katy Perry's new project. The two connected through executives at Capitol Records, and the pop star recently Tweeted about being in the studio with Stewart. "I think she's really dope," he says. "I'm just getting into the whole movement but everything from what I see she seems really serious about what she's doing and really dedicated." --Clover Hope. Vibe.com

. Billy Bush interview Before the AMAs . | November 24 2009
. KIIS FM with Ryan Seacrest Interview - 23-11-09 . | November 23 2009

Jennifer called Ryan Seacrest this moring during his show on KIIS FM they talked about the performance and the album we learn one more title "Pieces", here's the audio and transcript.

Ryan: The AMAs, it looked fun!
Jen: It was really fun; it was nice to be back on stage doing my thing.
Ryan: You almost tripped but recovered quicker than anyone else on stage. What happened?
Jen: Did I trip a little bit? I don't even remember (laugh).
Ryan:  But it was the greatest recovery ever!
Jen: No I meant to do that; you should know me better than that it was part of the choreography.
Ryan: But you do things like that because it's endearing, it make you like one of us.
Jen:  The measure of things isn't what happens when you fall, it's how you recover when you fall,".

Ryan: I like the idea of the song "Louboutins"  , but basically it's like part time lover, instead of feeling sorry you say screw it I look sexier than ever, I put my Louboutons on and go crush it.
Jen: I’m leaving you, yeah I’m not goanna wait for my girlfriend to pick me up, I’m a powerful person and I’m gonna show you, you're finished.
Ryan: the song is not about shoes it's a metaphor
Jen : No absolutely, it's just don't forget who I am, I bought this shoes I’m gonna be alright .

Ryan: You know what I love about Jennifer & Marc is that they really are normal people, they bring their iphone and they're like look how cute are our kids.
Jen: I know we do that, you always think that you're not gonna be that person but then you are.
Ryan: And you guys really changed to become such great parents, they're your total number one priority right?
Jen: Yes, it's like when I was rehearsing for this performance it took 2 weeks and the kids were there every day and it's just nice, they're just everything, they come first and they just make everything better.

Ryan: So last night Louboutins was performed, when will the album come out?
Jen: The album is gonna be out I believe in March, late February or early March.
Ryan: why is it called Love?
Jen: Love? With a question mark, because I think it's the eternal question, it's something even with my experiences and the people around me it still one of the most confusing thing.
Ryan: You're still confused by it? Because you guys seem like totally in love.
Jen: We are in love and it still hard and confusing, there is many great things about our relationship but at the same time there is things that happen and you got to get through, and the song on the album are really specific to the album title.
Ryan so what are the most vulnerable or revealing songs on the album that we haven't heard yet?
Jen: There is a couple, there is a song called "Starting over" that I think is going to strike a chord with a lot of people and there is a song called "Pieces" that also kind of deep.

Ryan: Do you recommend marriage?
Jen: Yeah I do when you found the right person and sometime we think that we found the right person because we have strong feelings but it takes more than that to have a marriage.

Ryan: What I love about Jennifer is that Marc knew in a second and Jennifer was like 'I don't have time for you"
Jen: It took me years, he was like you're gonna be my wife and I was like yeah Ok, nice to meet you.
Ryan: He has this little thing inside his body called "Passion" doesn't he?
Jen: That's the biggest thing about him yeah.
Ryan: If he wants something forget it he's getting it.
Ryan: Does he get nervous when you perform.
Jen: Oh my god when he performs he doesn't care et goes up there with a bear and a cigarette before he goes on and he's fine, when I perform he's really nervous, it's cute I tell him baby I’m fine, everything is going to be fine.
Ryan: I saw him when you were performing at Wango Tango and it was like he was coaching a football team, he's really intense.
Jen: yeah and last night he was really proud, he just couldn't stop he was beaming.
Ryan: Was last night dinner was fun?
Jen: it was too fun.
Ryan: did Benny buy?
Jen: Probably not
Ryan: So when we're close to the release of the album would you come in and bring the tracks.
Jen: I will, we'll listen to a few and you'll know what I mean, it's a special album. Then Ryan Played "Louboutons".

.Power 100 w/ Yesi Ortiz interview | November 18 2009
So they played Jennifer's interview with Yesi Ortiz on Power 100 they talked about Lola again she gave the same explaination and here the rest :

  • About Marc: Yasi says that she saw Marc on a talk show with George Lopez and though that he seemed like a really fun guy, Jen says that it's something people don't know about Marc he's like a real comedien and that George Lopez calls him the funiest guy et knows
  • The Back-up plan: The first thing se did after her break was filming that movie that should be out March 12, she saw it and say that it's really good.
  • Preparing for The AMAs: It's fun to be back working with the dancers, to be back in her element, The choregraphers are really excited about what they've prepared.
  • A possible Tour She doesn't know yet but she want to film an other movie before that.
  • About Ojani: Sad situtation, that he can't concentrate on the good thing, but she believes in karma if you do the right thing, the right thing happen.
  • Twitter: She's not twitting much yet because Twitter isn't working on her Blackberry right now.
  • .Djskee Interview Stream ! | November 16 2009
  • I was able to record Jen's interview on KIIS Fm with Djskee, i missed a part where she talks about with who she would like to work in the futur she said many film directors like Scorsses and that she never regreted turning down a role, i'll add that part in my stream once they put the show online.

    • About Lola: She was working on her album and they already had a 1st single when the head of Epic wanted her to record "Fresh out the oven" but it didn't fit with her album "Love?" but she recorded it anyway and Epic decided to put it out there and not put her name on it so she choosed "Lola" Marc's nickname for her, it could end up on the album has a bonus track, they did a quick video and since it wasn't supposed to be her she got to have a totally different look.
    • About the Title "Love?": The album isn't about her marriage but more about her experiences, she always sang about love on all her albums but with this album she went a little deeper on the subject, the hard time, great time and it's not about being hungry but questioning.
    • Sound of the album: little bit of urban, pop and dance, lots of Up-tempo.
    • Why coming with an album now after this long break? She never stopped making music, she has a studio at home so she was always recording those last 2 years.
    • About the music bisness & low sales: She doesn't worry about that she just want to makes music that an album do well or not and with this album in particular she feels like she has something to say at that's all what matters.
    • Release date: Album out early next year.
    • Louboutins: The First single she'll premiere it at the Amas, the song is about when you're in a bad relationship and get the decision to leave "But it's not the girl who's like I'm going to take my stuff and I'm going to put on my sweatpants I'm gonna cry and my girlfriends are going to pick me up and we going to eat some ice cream.' It's not that girl. This girl is putting on her hottest dress and her sexiest Louboutins shoes and leaving your ass! I'm out"
    • What's on her iPod?: she listen to all kind of music, she loves Salsa, Pop, Hip Hop, the last Jay Z album and her favorite MJ song also because of the video is 'Smooth Criminal'.
    • Twitter: She's not into computers but she was at a Dolphin game and Kim Kardashian was there and asked her to open one and showed her how to do it and she think it's a great thing to connect with the fans, to tell them what you're thinking and doing yourself instead of someone else doing it for her.
    • SNL: She'll be doing SNL to promote "The Back-up plan" around March, she's excited about it even if it's very scary because it's live and she'll be doing both the hosting and performances but she's done it before so it should be fun.
    • Busy 2010: The past couple of years she has been with the babies but it's time to get back to work, it was great to stop and those where the most fulfilling years she ever had and she says that you have to live your life to have something to say and now she feels like it's time.
    • About performing "Louboutins" while no one heard it before, She recall a Mike Tyson documentary where he said that he always felt scared before a match but always confident and that's how she feels. (They'll play the single in the radio right after the Amas performance).
  •

. Fresh out the Oven Not the new single!. | October 08 2009

People.com confirm that 'Fresh out the oven' is not Jen's new single, and the Lola persona is just for tthis song, they also say that the upcoming album is called 'Love?' and will be released in january.

Jennifer Lopez's new album Love? is due in January, but fans of the singer-actress can get their fix now, with the release of a dance track titled "Fresh Out of the Oven," featuring the rapper Pitbull.

A note of explanation: Lopez's new song will not appear on her upcoming album – and a Web site established to promote it, featuring a dancing female figure named Lola, has spawned rumors that Lopez has adopted a new persona.

Not so. "Lola is just for this song, it's not her ongoing persona," says a source close to the singer. "It's something fun. She hasn't become Sasha Fierce [Beyoncé's artistic alter ego]. There won't be anything to do with Lola on her Love? album."

"This is a hot club record that the label loved and Jennifer thought was fun," Amanda Ghost, president of Epic Records tells PEOPLE. "Jennifer and Pitbull got together and the record leaked. Lola is a fun character just for this song."

    . Wynter Gordon Interview s.. | August 30 2009

Singer/songwriter Wynter Gordon talked to superdanceelectropopmagic.blogspot about her upcoming album and working with Jennifer, she talks about a song she wrote for her that Jennifer recorded with Danja (Wynter was also the writer of Jen's leaked track 'What is Love').

Q2: How was it like working with Jennifer Lopez?
A: She is amazingly smart and intelligent. She's beautiful and she smells like she just walked down from heaven...no really! lol. J-Lo is the realest famous person you can meet and she really was honest with me and gave me some really great life lessons. We spent a few days talking and thats how I was able to write for her album, by personalizing her life lessons.

Q3: Is it true you worked with Adrienne Bailon and Danja?
A: I worked with Adrienne Bailon but never worked with Danja. I wrote a record that Danja produced that's going on J-Lo's album called "Starting Over." It's an amazing track and song but I wrote it alone, Brandon Creed (JLo's A&R) just sent me the track and booked a studio for me to write and record it alone though.

Q8: "What Is Love" is a beautiful song. What inspired you to write it? Will we ever hear your version?
A: The record company wanted me to write a love song and my personal history has always been about my search for love. So I wrote "What is Love?" It was going to be my single, then my A&R's left again and I was in limbo at the label. We ended up selling the record to J-Lo for her album. I don't think my version will ever be released.

    . Singerooms Article | Janvier 29 2009

On The 6,” "Jlo" “This Is Me... Then,” “Rebirth,” and “Brave” are all albums that have been released since Jennifer Lopez hit the scene in 1999 so it seems fitting, 10 years later, that she release a Greatest Hits album right ?
According to Jennifer Lopez and Bryan Michael Cox, who spoke with Singersroom in November, Jennifer Lopez is doing just that.

Instead of releasing a normal Greatest Hits project, the former “If You Had My Love” singer is coming strong with a few new singles including a Bryan Michael Cox tinged cut, with hopes that she’ll reignite the fire she once had on the charts.

While little is known about Lopez’s “Greatest Hits” effort, sources believe the effort will allow Lopez to mount a comeback of sorts since her last album “Brave (2007)” was graded less than stellar. The effort, which was led by the single “Do It Well,” was given a C rating at Entertainment Weekly where Jonathan Bernstein wrote “Expensive beats and uplifting material are offset by listless vocals”.

Jennifer Lopez’s “Greatest Hits” is slated to hit stores sometime this Spring.
